I’m giving one star because I can’t…
I’m giving one star because I can’t give zero, my preferred rating. I placed an order with Barbour uk for two pairs of shoes, never got a confirmation email of their dispatch. So I contacted Barbour via their customer services email. I got a reply, staring a technical fault had the order to fall over. In Barbour’s reply I was asked if I wanted to have the order fulfilled or cancel and to advise them of my decision. I opted to get it fulfilled, replied to Barbour and waited for them to get on with the order again. We’ll I’ve heard nothing, no dispatch, no further emails from them, this is despite me emailing them back twice further. I am now asking them to refund me, but having had no communication from Barbour, not even to the email they asked me to send, I’ll probably have to end up chasing my credit card company for the money. Very poor communication

Barbour’s repair service is first rate
Sent a jacket back for repair and rewaxing that was so worn, torn and mouldy I almost binned it. Barbour did an astonishingly expert and attentive job of bringing the jacket back to life. Everything about the service was first rate. I could have bought a new Barbour for not much more in the sale but I think the quality of the repairs will mean this jacket outlasts a new version.

Awful quality Barbour wellies
I was bought a pair of Barbour wellies for Christmas. They cost £70 direct from Barbour. I have occasionally walked the dog in them over the last 4-months, around a flat field. I expect that they have only travelled 5-miles or so in that period. The lining at the heel of both boots has worn away and they are now so uncomfortable as to be unwearable. I have contacted Barbour who deem this to be "natural wear and tear". They have offered to replace them with an identical pair. Awful quality at a premium price. There are much better alternatives. You have been warned!

I recently had my wax jacket repaired…
I recently had my wax jacket repaired and re-waxed. WOW!! It's as good as it was the day I bought it. The staff at the Rushden Lakes store who dealt with it were brilliant ? ? ?

Barbour repair service
I have a Barbour Steve McQueen which I have worn to death over the last 7 years. My favourite coat but it was looking tatty. Frayed round the wrists. Holes in the elbows and scuffed everywhere. I was looking to replace it with a new one but they don't make it anymore.
I contacted barbour and they explained their repair service.
Being old school I wrote a letter which I sent with the jacket. Few days later I got an email quote which I paid on line. Coat arrived this morning, less than 3 weeks since I sent it. At first I thought they'd just sent me a new one it looked that good. Couldn't even see the repairs. Suspect they just changed the sleeves complete. I am so impressed with the value for money, speed of repair and the excellent quality of repair.
I will definitely use this service again. I'm sure my jacket will last my lifetime with the repair service. Thank you Barbour.
Great customer service
I sent my coat for waxing to Barbour and they sent it back through DPD. Unfortunately, the DPD driver left my coat outside my building and got stolen. I then got back to Barbour to report the issue and they sent me back a brand new coat. Great service. Many thanks.

Quantocks
I received a pair of Barbour Quantock boots, for Christmas 2021.
Initial impressions weren't great. Slightest puddle led to wet foot.
I live in Essex and wear boots when taking our dog for long walks at the weekend.
Now after less than 4 months they are only fit for the bin.
The leather on the inside of the heel is worn through. As is the insole.
Essex isn't renowned for difficult terrain and only used at weekends means they are in my opinion lightly used.
As they were a gift. Not sure of the price paid. But guess it was around £130.
A lot of money for fashion boots.
Hiking boots!! A complete load of quantocks.

Northumbria Wax Jacket... poor quality
I bought a Northumbria Wax Jacket on 9th March and wore it on no more than half a dozen occasions before the neck of a press stud sheared away from its head and needed to be returned just three weeks following purchase.
I have stud fastening jackets which I wear regularly, including another Barbour, without problems.
Despite this quite clearly being a defective part or poor workmanship, Barbour expect the repair to be paid for.
£249.00 is a lot of money to pay out for a defective product and to be expected to pay for the repair of a defective product is hardly conducive to good customer relations or for future business.
Always buy Barbour
Always buy Barbour
Just bought a gold waterproof. And it is fab. So well made and comfy!!

Coat worn after 6 weeks
Purchased a winter coat at £140 late 2021 , used a handful of times whilst carrying my work rucksack. Noticed the back of coat was highly worn in several places after just 2 months. Contacted Barbour, posted my coat back to them for inspection. They kept it for several weeks and never kept me informed or contacted me. I had to email them and they said the coat had rubbed on something and was considered normal wear and tear. I told them I wore my coat only 2 to 3 times per week given most people are WFH with my laptop work rucksack and this was quite normal practice for many people who commute to work. The coat should not be such poor quality to warrant such early wear and tear. Terrible customer service in my experience, they defended their opinion offering no viable evidence to me this was a product fault. They simply returned my coat. I will never purchase any product from them again.
Ordered a lovely wax jacket to wear to…
Ordered a lovely wax jacket to wear to the races in a couple of weeks, unpacked it, tried it on, thought it a bit tight on the arm hole, it's partially stitched up! Also the zip doesn't zip up, I love barbour, but this was shocking, will obviously be sending it back, and have ordered another, fingers crossed I can get my arm in it, and zip it up! Bought a nice blouse also, absolutely perfect.
Wonderful Parka - Appalling Zip!
I love my new Arctic Parka: it's wind-proof, rain-proof, cosy and robust. It's the fourth Barbour coat I've owned over the last 30 years - one left on a friend's barge 20 years ago; the other's all going strong.
However... the zip on this Arctic Parka is a disaster! It takes several attempts to line it up successfully and raise the zip: after minutes spent fumbling with it, I even have to resort to getting my wife to do it for me, like a four year old!
I'm really not normally inept and I'm pretty dexterous: it's simply badly designed and shoddy. A let-down of an otherwise fantastic piece of kit.

Hood-winked !!
It saddens me to rate Barbour Customer Service as BAD !
Bought a Beaumont Wax Jacket in a Barbour outlet store however before completing the purchase I enquired if it was a "second". I was assured that it was not and left the shop happy. The jacket did not come with a hood and I thought that I should buy this accessory and made a second purchase through their website. When the hood arrived it could not be fitted to the studding arrangement and at that point contacted Barbour for an explanation. It transpires that I purchased a "RETAIL" jacket which is inferior to the normal Beaumont as it lacks many of the nicer features.
The customer service guy did not accept that it was a "second". The price ticket recommended RRP £ 245 which led me to believe I was buying the full featured jacket albeit the garment was substantially reduced in the outlet store. Buy of the week, I thought, but then it appears that, if it seems too good to be true ........
I feel hood-winked and that Barbour are guilty of sharp practice. I am now in the process of returning both jacket and hood to Barbour for a full refund.
Barbour should make it clear that two standards exist, if you are interested in the "RETAIL" version it will come in small, medium, large and extra large whereas the fully priced jacket is sold in chest sizes.
I feel tricked and the deception only came to light as a result of buying a matching hood.
